Introduction
This project was secured while DKM Builders Oxford Ltd was delivering a neighbouring property on Cranmer Road. Following our presence on site and the progress of the adjacent project, the client approached us to discuss their own plans for extending and refurbishing their home.
After an initial consultation and site visit, we provided a clear budget and project outline. The client was confident in our approach, and the project proceeded smoothly under our management as principal contractor.
The works involved a single-storey extension, full internal refurbishment, construction of a summer house, and complete external landscaping including paving and installation of a jacuzzi area.
Client Brief
The client was looking to increase internal living space, improve the overall layout of the property, and create a functional and well-designed outdoor area.
A key requirement was the addition of a summer house and a landscaped garden space suitable for both everyday use and entertaining.
Demolition & Preparation
The project commenced with strip-out works and preparation of the existing structure, allowing for the extension and internal refurbishment works to be carried out efficiently.
This phase ensured that all areas were ready for structural alterations and new construction.
Extension Works
A single-storey extension was constructed to the rear of the property, designed to enhance the internal layout and create additional usable space.
The works included structural alterations, installation of supporting elements, and integration of the new extension with the existing property.
Internal Refurbishment
Alongside the extension, a full internal refurbishment of the property was carried out.
This included all first fix and second fix works, followed by the installation of finishes throughout the house. The result was a fully upgraded interior aligned with the client’s requirements.
External Works & Summer House
A key feature of the project was the transformation of the external space.
This included the construction of a summer house, installation of paving, and the creation of a dedicated area for a jacuzzi. The landscaping works were designed to complement both the property and the extension, creating a cohesive and functional outdoor environment.
Compliance & Coordination
DKM Builders Oxford Ltd managed all aspects of the project, including coordination with Building Control and all required inspections throughout the build.
All works were carried out in line with current regulations, with relevant certifications provided to the client upon completion.
Outcome
The project was completed over approximately seven months, delivering a significant upgrade to both the internal and external areas of the property.
